Q1. Let’s start with your journey. How did your career begin, and what led you to where you are today?

My career started in the buying offices of Neiman Marcus in Dallas. I began as an office manager, then moved into buying and eventually expanded into sales, marketing, IT, merchandising, and operations. Over time, I stepped into executive leadership roles, including CMO, CIO, president, and now CEO.

What shaped my path most was my willingness to learn and adapt. Every industry and every role taught me something valuable. Whether I was working in fashion, marine mammal and ocean conservation, real estate, small business, healthcare, finance, or business consulting, I focused on solving problems, improving systems, and helping organizations grow stronger.

That flexibility allowed me to build a broad foundation, and today I bring that experience into every client relationship and strategic decision.

Q2. What continues to motivate you after such a diverse career journey?

What keeps me motivated is seeing businesses succeed. I genuinely enjoy helping organizations overcome obstacles and discover opportunities they may not have seen before.

Sometimes it helps a company improve revenue. Other times, it is supporting a nonprofit or conservation effort that creates positive change. Knowing that the work has a real impact gives me energy every day.

I also believe growth never stops. Every challenge brings a lesson, and every project offers a chance to improve. That mindset keeps me excited about what comes next.

Q3. Which values guide the way you lead your organization today?

Clarity, accountability, and service are at the center of how I lead.

I believe leaders need to communicate clearly and create systems that help teams succeed. I also believe accountability matters because results come from ownership and follow-through.

At the same time, empathy is critical. People perform best when they feel heard and supported. I try to create an environment where collaboration is encouraged and where everyone understands they play a vital role in the bigger picture.

One phrase I often say is, “When you succeed, we succeed.” That philosophy shapes how we work with both clients and teams.

Q4. Every leader faces difficult moments. Was there one defining challenge that shaped your leadership style?

Absolutely. One of the most defining periods of my life came during serious health challenges. I experienced a broken knee during a luxury swimwear tradeshow in Miami, later lost the ability to walk for nearly two years, and have continued managing chronic back pain.

Those experiences tested me mentally and physically, but they also strengthened my resilience. I approached those challenges the same way I approached business problems by finding practical solutions and adapting systems to keep moving forward.

That experience changed how I support clients and teams. I understand firsthand that obstacles are real, but I also believe creativity, persistence, and determination can help people overcome more than they imagine.

Q5. Innovation and collaboration are essential today. How do you encourage both within your organization?

Innovation happens when people feel safe enough to share ideas and experiment without fear of failure.

I build cross-functional teams so people from diverse backgrounds and skill sets can collaborate. When marketing, operations, technology, finance, and creative teams work together, the solutions become more practical and scalable.

I also believe in rapid testing. Instead of spending months planning, we often build small pilot programs, gather feedback, and improve quickly. That approach allows us to stay agile and responsive.

At the same time, structure matters. Clear ownership, measurable goals, and repeatable systems help ideas move from concept to significant business impact.

Q6. From your perspective, what separates top-performing leaders from everyone else?

The strongest leaders are relentless problem-solvers. They do not stop when things become difficult. Instead, they look for solutions and keep moving forward.

I also think resilience is one of the most important leadership traits. Every business faces setbacks, but successful leaders remain calm, focused, and determined during difficult moments.

Another key difference is humility. Great leaders listen, learn continuously, and understand that the best ideas can come from anywhere within the organization.

Finally, top-performing leaders take action. They gather information, make decisions, and improve as they go instead of waiting endlessly for perfect conditions.

Q7. How has mentorship influenced your growth over the years?

Mentorship has played a huge role in my development. Early leaders taught me how to connect creativity with business results, while senior executives showed me the importance of strategic thinking and scalable systems.

I also learned valuable lessons from frontline employees and peers. Listening to people doing the work often provides the clearest understanding of what needs improvement.

Today, I try to create the same opportunities for my team. We encourage mentoring, cross-training, stretch assignments, and open feedback. I want people to feel empowered to grow, take ownership, and build confidence in their abilities.

Q8. Markets change constantly. How do you keep your organization agile and aligned with customer needs?

Agility starts with listening. We stay close to customer feedback, industry shifts, and market trends so we can identify opportunities early.

We also rely heavily on communication and measurable goals. Dashboards, regular reviews, and ongoing collaboration help us adjust quickly when priorities shift.

Training is another important part of staying agile. Technology and customer expectations evolve fast, so continuous learning is necessary for long-term success.

At the end of the day, organizations that stay flexible while maintaining operational discipline are the ones that continue to grow.

Q9. What advice would you give emerging leaders who want to make a meaningful impact?

Adopt an “I can do it” mindset.

If you do not know something, learn it. If a challenge seems difficult, face it directly rather than avoid it. Growth comes from stepping outside comfort zones and being willing to adapt.

I also encourage emerging leaders to stay curious and surround themselves with people who challenge them to improve. Resilience, humility, and consistency matter more than perfection.

Most importantly, believe in your ability to figure things out. Confidence combined with action creates momentum.

I am excited about how AI and automation are transforming business operations and creativity.

Technology is enabling organizations of all sizes to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and uncover new growth opportunities. At the same time, it increases the importance of human-centered strategy and thoughtful leadership.

What excites me most is helping businesses use these tools to achieve smarter, faster, and more sustainable results while keeping people at the center of the process.
